The Uses of Not
Thirty spokes meet in the hub,
but the empty space between them
is the essence of the wheel.
Pots are formed from clay,
but the empty space between it
is the essence of the pot.
Walls with windows and doors form the house,
but the empty space within it
is the essence of the house.

Hey, David. We think about your family all the time. So much that's probably not healthy! It's good to hear that Lucy is doing well (from your wife's blog) and about the excursions into your childhood.
I stacked firewood this weekend. A great big pile of it. The percussion of it... that is one thing that brings me back, although it seems a lot easier and faster to me now than it did then. Every fall, I always go back to the Octobers of my youth...never last year's, or even the ones from my college days. I think I'm glad for that.
It is good to read you again. I left a comment on the blog before this one. Keep writing!
